Your seller page
This page is for a member who sells, or a parent selling for a child. It covers how to get into the console from your invitation, what the home screen shows, and how to use your seller page: the To do list, the buttons, the links under the list, and Settings. A parent and a member see the same page. Where the console shows something different to a parent, this page says so.
Get in from your invitation
Section titled “Get in from your invitation”The organization’s owner or admin invites you by email. For a child who is a minor, the invitation goes to a parent or guardian. See Getting a member onto the roster. An invitation expires after 7 days. After that, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
- Open the link in your invitation email. It opens the Accept your invite page. If you are not signed in, the page sends you to sign in first and brings you back. See Your account and signing in.
- Check the address under “You’re signed in as”. Accepting adds this account to the organization that sent the invite. If it is the wrong account, select Use another account.
- Select Accept invite. A notice, Invite accepted, says who you are linked to, for example “You’re linked to Alex Rivera at Troop 207.”
If your account has no name yet, the console asks for it next. Enter your Full name and select Continue. Then it takes you to your seller page, or to the home screen if you sell for more than one member. If you also run an organization, it opens that organization’s console instead. Select the logo to reach the home screen.
Some links do not work. “This invite link isn’t valid” means the link was not recognized. “This invite can’t be accepted” means it expired, was revoked, or was already used. In both cases, ask the person who invited you for a new invite. If you open the page with no invite waiting, you see “No invite to accept”. Open the link in your email again. The console remembers an invite you opened for an hour, so you can sign in and come back to accept it.
Do not choose Create organization on the welcome screen to join an existing organization. That is only for starting a fundraiser of your own. The welcome screen also lists Pending invitations with an Accept button, but only for admin and volunteer invitations. Seller and parent invitations arrive only by email.
The home screen
Section titled “The home screen”The home screen is titled Your organizations. Select the UnitTally logo in the top bar to reach it from anywhere in the console.
Each organization you sell for has a card under Where you sell. The first time, a How selling works card sits above them with three lines on sharing your link, recording sales and logging cash. Select its close button to dismiss it. The console remembers that for you in this browser. More about selling opens the help drawer.
A seller card shows:
- A title and a badge. A member card is titled with the organization’s name and carries a Member badge. A parent card is titled with your child’s name and the organization, like “Alex, Troop 207”, and carries a Parent badge. It reads as the organization’s name alone for a moment, until the child’s name loads.
- Open, which goes to that seller’s page.
- One line for each campaign the organization is running now: the campaign’s name, then your raised total. With a personal goal set, it reads like “$120.00 of $250.00 goal” with a progress bar. Without one, it reads “$120.00 raised”.
- Cash to hand off to the treasurer, with a View hand-offs link, only while you owe cash.
- Copy link, Show QR code and Record a sale.
If you also run an organization, it appears under Organizations you run with a badge showing your role as Owner, Admin or Volunteer, and a Manage or Open button. With nothing yet, the screen says “No organizations yet” and points you to your invite email. To run a fundraiser of your own, select Create organization at the top of the screen. See Start another organization.
When you sell for exactly one member and do not run an organization, signing in takes you straight to that seller’s page and skips this screen. With two or more, you land here. If you run an organization, signing in opens that organization’s console instead, so go to the home screen by selecting the logo.
The seller page
Section titled “The seller page”The heading is the organization’s name for a member. For a parent, it is your child’s name and the organization, with the Parent badge, because everything on the page belongs to your child’s place on the roster. Above it, Your organizations goes back to the home screen.
The page leads with what to do. A greeting comes first: “Hi Alex. Here is what to do.” for a member, or “Here is what Alex has to do.” for a parent. Under it, each campaign with a personal goal or a prize shows a progress bar toward the goal and how much more you need for the next prize, for example “$12.00 more for the Hoodie”.
Three buttons follow:
- Share opens your phone’s share sheet with your link and a ready message, “Help me raise money for” the organization, or “Help Alex raise money for” it on a Parent card. Where the browser has no share sheet, it copies the link instead. See Sharing your link.
- Record a sale logs a sale you made in person. See Orders and sales you record.
- Turn in cash logs cash you gave the treasurer. See Cash you owe.
Your To do list
Section titled “Your To do list”The To do list has one row per job, and each row finishes with one tap:
- Deliver to a buyer, with where it goes and what is in it. Delivered marks the order delivered. A pickup order is not on the list, because the buyer collects it from the organization.
- Collect an amount from a buyer, with the day they ordered. Got paid asks how they paid, Cash, Check or Venmo, and one tap records it. The money adds to the cash you owe the treasurer.
- Turn in the cash you hold. Turn in opens the same form as Turn in cash, with the amount filled in.
Delivered and Got paid apply at once, with no question first. A notice, Marked delivered or Payment recorded, offers Undo for a few seconds in case you tapped the wrong order.
While an order still needs delivering or collecting, your To do list shows the buyer’s phone and email, so you can call, text or email them. Once it is delivered and paid, the contact leaves your list. All orders never shows it. Call, text and email buttons appear only for the contact the buyer gave.
With nothing to do, the list says All caught up and offers Share and Record a sale.
Under the list, four links open the rest of the page:
- All orders lists every order credited to you. See Orders and sales you record.
- Cash history shows the cash you owe and the hand-offs you have logged. See Cash you owe.
- Supporters lists the buyers whose orders are credited to you. See Your supporters.
- Settings is covered below.
Each of those pages has a Back to link to the seller page.
Your campaigns
Section titled “Your campaigns”Below the links is Your campaigns, then How selling works until you dismiss it.
Your campaigns has a card for each campaign the organization is running now, and for any past campaign that has paid orders credited to you. Each card shows:
- The campaign’s name and a status badge: Draft, Scheduled, Active, Closed or Archived.
- “Raised” with the amount, “from 3 paid orders”. Only paid orders count, and the amount is the order subtotal less any refund, without fees.
- Your personal goal, if you set one: a progress bar and “$120.00 of $250.00 personal goal”.
- Your share link, as text.
A personal goal is a target for your own progress bar. Your treasurer does not see it, and it is not a promise to your organization. To set one:
- On a campaign card, select Set goal. When a goal exists, the button is Edit goal.
- In Set a personal goal, enter the Goal amount in dollars, for example 250.00. It must be more than zero.
- Select Save goal. The notice Goal updated confirms it.
The seller page does not show group standings. Where the organization’s plan includes them and the treasurer turns them on for a fundraiser, they appear on that fundraiser’s storefront page. See Group standings.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Settings has two parts.
Member details shows the name, email and phone the organization keeps on its roster for you, or for your child if you are the parent. The treasurer sees these. A field you left blank reads “Not set”. Changing them does not change the name or email you sign in with. To change them:
- Select Edit details.
- In Edit member details, change the Name, Email (optional) or Phone (optional). The name is required. Clear the email or phone to remove it.
- Select Save details. The notice Details updated confirms it.
If another member of the organization already uses that email, the form says “That email is already used by another member in this organization.” Use a different address.
An owner or admin of the organization can also correct these details from the console. Your link stays the same either way.
Notifications lets you choose how you hear about orders credited to you. It has two settings, each Off or Real-time:
- Orders credited to me emails you when an order is credited to you, from your share link or from a sale you or the treasurer record. It starts Off.
- Payments recorded on my sales emails you when someone else records the payment on a pay-later order credited to you. It starts Real-time.
Choosing a value saves it, with the notice Notification preference saved. The setting is yours for the whole organization. If you are linked to two members there, such as two children, one setting covers both. Emails go to the address you sign in with.
When an organization is suspended
Section titled “When an organization is suspended”A card or seller page for a suspended organization shows a warning, This organization is suspended. It says the store is unavailable, so the share link is hidden, and that while the organization is suspended you cannot record sales, log hand-offs or change details. Sales and hand-offs so far stay readable. On the card the notice says they are “on its page”, and on the seller page, “shown below”. The page opens read-only. Your To do list still shows, without its buttons. Share, Record a sale, Turn in cash, Set goal, Edit goal, Edit details, Log a cash hand-off and the order status buttons under All orders are hidden. A notification change cannot be saved either. Ask your treasurer if you need to know more.
