What is UnitTally?
UnitTally is a fundraising platform for organizations that run product sales, sponsorship drives, and ticketed events with a roster of members: booster clubs, PTAs and PTOs, youth sports leagues, dance and cheer programs, scout troops, academic and robotics teams, and similar 501(c)(3)-or-LLC-structured groups. If your organization has a campaign, a roster of people selling on its behalf, and a treasurer who needs to know exactly where the money went, UnitTally is built for that shape of problem.
This site is in closed alpha. It documents how the platform is designed to work, including capability that ships ahead of a broader public launch later in 2026. Nothing here is a claim that a feature is live in a public account today — check with your onboarding contact for what’s available in your organization right now.
The problem it solves
Section titled “The problem it solves”A typical booster-club or PTA fundraiser runs on a spreadsheet, a stack of paper order forms, and a treasurer who reconciles cash, checks, and a handful of Venmo screenshots by hand. UnitTally replaces that with one system: a campaign with products, a roster of members who each join with an account and get their own organization-specific sharing link, a single ledger for every payment method, and a fulfillment view for pickup day.
Who it’s for
Section titled “Who it’s for”- Booster clubs and PTAs/PTOs running annual sales, sponsorship drives, or ticketed events.
- Youth sports, scout troops, dance/cheer, and academic/robotics teams with a roster of members and a season-shaped campaign calendar.
- Any similar volunteer-run organization where a treasurer needs an auditable record and members need credit for what they sold.
The organizations best positioned to use online card payments are ones with their own EIN and bank account — they can connect their own Stripe account directly. Organizations operating under a chartering body’s tax ID (a council, a district, a parent charter) can still run a fundraiser on UnitTally using cash, check, and manual payment tracking; that path has no processing fee at all. See Payment methods for the full breakdown.
The cost model, in dollars
Section titled “The cost model, in dollars”UnitTally charges a per-transaction fee, not a flat cut of every dollar raised, and manual payments never carry one:
- Cash, check, or any manual payment method costs $0 in UnitTally fees, on every tier. Run a cash/check fundraiser for free.
- Online card payments cost a small platform fee on top of whatever Stripe (the payment processor) charges to move the card transaction. Those are two separate line items — UnitTally never takes a cut of Stripe’s processing fee, and Stripe never sees UnitTally’s fee.
- On a typical $30 sale, $28 of every $30 stays with the organization after both fees, on the free tier.
- The platform fee is capped per transaction, so it doesn’t scale linearly with big-ticket sales: a $1,000 corporate sponsorship costs at most $20 in UnitTally fees on the free tier — not $200.
- Organizations earn Free Grants (10 free transactions automatically at sign-up, plus ongoing grants earned through Amazon/Target wishlist shopping and referral bonuses), waiving the UnitTally platform fee on online card sales entirely.
